Our comprehensive training program is designed to equip airport personnel with the expertise to plan, organize, execute and analyze partial and full-scale exercises. Drawing from a robust framework of international and national guidelines, including ICAO, EASA, JESIP, NFPA, HSEEP, FEMA, and the German BBK, the curriculum ensures adherence to the highest standards in aviation safety and emergency preparedness.
Participants will delve into the ICAO's safety management systems, EASA's operational directives, and NFPA's response protocols. They will learn JESIP's interoperability principles for multi-agency coordination, apply HSEEP's exercise evaluation methodology, and incorporate FEMA's emergency management practices. The BBK's approach to critical infrastructure protection will be explored to enhance resilience at airports.
By the end of this training, attendees will be proficient in developing exercise scenarios tailored to airport environments, managing cross-functional teams, and conducting post-exercise analysis for continuous improvement in airport safety and security operations.
What will participants learn?
In our meticulously structured 5-day course, trainees will acquire the essential skills to adeptly conduct airport exercises, ensuring compliance with global and national standards set by ICAO, EASA, JESIP, NFPA, HSEEP, FEMA, and the German BBK.
Day one sets the stage, offering a comprehensive overview of international and domestic regulatory frameworks, focusing on their implications for airport emergency planning.
Day two progresses to the strategic elements of exercise development. Trainees will learn to craft realistic, scalable exercise scenarios that test and enhance airport emergency response capabilities. The day is rounded off with practical sessions on stakeholder engagement and resource planning.
The third and fourth days are dedicated to the nuts and bolts of exercise execution, from seamless coordination of multi-agency efforts to effective communication strategies. Participants will engage in hands-on simulations, applying their knowledge in real-time, dynamic settings.
The course culminates on day five with rigorous post-exercise analysis techniques. Trainees will dissect exercise performance, employing HSEEP and FEMA's after-action reporting methodologies to identify lessons learned and improvement strategies. By the end of the training, participants will have the tools to, not only conduct comprehensive emergency exercises, but also integrate the insights gained into their airport's continuous improvement and risk management processes.
