Cybersecurity is of paramount importance in aviation to safeguard critical systems, data, and operations from cyber threats. With increasing digitalization and connectivity in aviation, the industry is vulnerable to cyber-attacks that can compromise safety, disrupt operations, and jeopardize sensitive information. Robust cybersecurity measures are essential to protect aircraft systems, air traffic control, passenger data, and airline operations from unauthorized access and malicious activities. By prioritizing cybersecurity, the aviation industry can uphold safety, maintain trust, and ensure the seamless functioning of air transportation, underscoring the critical role of cybersecurity in safeguarding the integrity and resilience of aviation systems.

What will participants learn?

Participants in this training will learn all about Airport Cyber Defence and how to achieve a desired maturity state in this domain. Unlike other IT security trainings, this program focuses specifically on the application of security measures within an airport organization.

Participants will gain knowledge on important standards and regulations such as ISO 2700x, ISO 2230x, EU: NIS2, Germany: BSI & KRITIS. They will also understand the concept of ‘cyber’ and how cyber defence impacts the financial and operational viability of an airport. Participants will learn to identify vulnerable domains in an airport environment, roles involved and how to leverage synergies across IT functions, frameworks, ISO standards, and regulations. Strategies to address cyber attacks will be explored, and participants will also be given ideas on how to ‘start small’ with their cyber defence efforts
